Independent Chairperson - Mr. Padraic White:
Entrepreneur and former CEO of IDA-Ireland
Padraic White was appointed as inaugural Chairperson of the RRAI by its Board of Directors.
Padraic has a special interest in the SME sector and is chairman of a number of SME companies including Arigna Fuels Ltd, the Collins McNicholas Recruitment and HR Services Group, and Certification Europe Ltd. He is an advisor to Kernel Capital and is chairman of the Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Equity Fund managed by Kernel Capital.
He is chairman of the of the UTV Media Group’s Dublin radio station Q102FM, and was a founder member of the station. He is a Board member of UTV Ireland, which intends to launch a new national television service early in 2015.
He is a director of a number of financial service companies: Willis Risk Services Ireland; and Setanta Asset Management Funds plc.
His public and community interests include chairmanship of the Louth Economic Forum, Coolock Development Council Ltd., Leitrim Recreation Strategy Forum, and membership of the Board of Trustees of the Waterford Viking Triangle.
He is a former Chief Executive and Board member of the Industrial Development Authority of Ireland (IDA –Ireland). During his tenure, IDA negotiated the initial location in Ireland of some of today's leading Irish-based multinationals such as Microsoft, IBM Software and Intel, and the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin was successfully launched with IDA-participation.
He was the inaugural Chairman of the Railway Procurement Agency (2002-2007), which was responsible for the construction, launch and initiation of the first LUAS light rail services in Dublin.
He is a native of Kinlough, County Leitrim, and is married to Senator Mary White, co-founder of Lir Chocolates Ltd.
He is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) and holds the IOD Diploma in Company Direction.
Executive Support - Mr. Darragh McElligott:
Darragh McElligott is a qualified solicitor who practised law in Matheson (formerly Matheson Ormsby Prentice), one of Ireland’s leading corporate law firms, from 2001 to 2009.
During his time as a practising solicitor, Darragh specialised in alcohol licensing law, retail law, consumer law, and commercial litigation, and he advised and represented major national retail groups as well as independent retailers throughout Ireland.
In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree in public relations, and has professional experience in that field.
Darragh has provided Executive Support to the RRAI since November 2010.
