Last Saturday, the 26th of October seen the Ballymoney Town Council recognise the achievements of local hero, Michael Dunlop. 2024 seen Michael equal and exceed uncle Joeys 26 TT wins which has stood for the last 24 years. This year, Michael has surpassed that figure by winning 29 TT titles which is both historic and remarkable. The Ballymoney Town Council threw a homecoming for Michael along with the Freedom of the Borough which was also bestowed on his uncle, Joey Dunlop, and Michaels dad, Robert. Despite the weather, a huge crowd of well wishers, supporters and fans turned out to show their appreciation and recognise all of Michaels achievements not just on the Isle of Man, but for his contribution to the sport everywhere he has taken to the tarmac. Despite losing his close brother William, Michael has continued on in the sport showing great determination and fortitude in every race he has competed in, racking up the TT titles and Wins, while also winning a record number of Armoy Race of Legends wins.
